Scar Tissue Management
Scar tissue management focuses on restoring flexibility, comfort, and mobility in tissues affected by surgery, injury, or burns. Scar tissue consists of collagen fibers that can adhere to surrounding fascia, restricting motion and causing discomfort or numbness. The therapist uses gentle to moderate pressure to stretch and mobilize scar and fascial tissue, increase circulation, and encourage proper tissue remodeling. Muscles respond by relaxing, and joints regain improved movement.
Anyone with surgical scars, injury scars, or restricted movement due to scar formation can benefit. Both old and new scars are effectively addressed. During a session, you’ll lie comfortably draped while the therapist applies targeted techniques. Depending on healing stage, pressure is adjusted to safely mobilize tissue. Sessions leave scars softer, surrounding tissue more flexible, and overall movement improved.
